Fishing is not permitted at Riverside House holiday cottage, but there are places to go nearby and in the Peak District for some of the best trout fishing and scenery in the country.

Fishing on the Derbyshire River Wye

The Cressbrook and Litton Flyfishes' Club looks after the flyfishing for eleven miles on the river Wye near Riverside House holiday cottage.  The river is home to wild brown and rainbow trout as well as grayling.  There are river keepers to patrol the river, but visiting anglers can try out the fishing on a day ticket in Monsal Dale. The day ticket is from the bridge at the head of Monsal Dale to just below Cressbrook Mill, 3/4 mile in total.  There are a maximum of four rods per day, no wading and two fish per day may be taken.  Tickets are £48 per day.

Other places to try fishing in the Peak District:

The Derwent Reservoir at Ladybower where you can get a day ticket to fish for true wild brown trout

Carsington Water fishing season runs from March to October each year and is predominantly a brown trout fishery with bank and boat fishing.
