Tideswell foodie delights include:

High Nelly's - a recently addition to Tideswell and now tried out by us!  We are delighted to say that our breakfast of Derbyshire oatcakes, free range eggs, and local bacon was delicious.  A friendly and warm welcome and plenty of space for groups.  Dogs are welcome but on tables outside only.

The Cherry Tree - specialising in cakes, salad boxes, home made hot pasties, sandwiches, and soups.  Everything is home made using top quality local ingredients and is ideal for a take away delight.

Peak District Parlour - another great breakfast spot or perhaps for Sunday lunch, if you have space there are home made cakes.  There's a deli section with cheeses and a good selection to take back to the holiday cottage. Light lunches, daily specials, savouries, fresh baked bread, home made ice cream all available.  Newspapers are provided for a relaxed coffee or brunch and it is dog friendly in the cafe too!

Tindalls of Tideswell - famous for their pies, homemade bread, chutneys, cakes and much more!  Well worth a stroll around for some holiday cottage goodies.

H&D Exotic Teas - has now moved to the premesis that was Vanilla Kitchen is going to be renamed The Woodhouse.  Freshly baked teas and gorgeous teas as well as a bistro. Menus include tapas, Greek, Thai, Caribbean and takeaway curries on Thursdays.  Not open on Tuesdays.  Dogs are welcome inside.

The Merchant's Yard - a great restaurant, offering morning coffees, lunch, a la carte evening meals and even cocktails!  Not to mention craft ale and fine wine.  On Sundays the roasts are not to be missed.  There is also a large private dining room, which we think could be great for guests of Riverside House holiday cottage for a special lunch or dinner.

Corner Chippy and Elliott's Fish and Chips are both highly recommend if you want something easy to take back to the holiday cottage.  Why not pop in for a pint at one of the pubs while you are waiting?

Peaches -  the greengrocer's is open on Sunday mornings 10 am to 1 pm, as well as Monday to Saturday.

Gibbs buthers - a good quality traditional butcher's serving locally reared meat.

Good pubs in Tideswell include The George and just at the edge of Tideswell The Anchor Inn. Both offer good pub fayre, good for families and easy parking.  The Anchor landlord's home made pies are definitely worth trying and portions are large too.  The Anchor also has a dog friendly room.  There's also the Horse and Jockey pub serving homemade food and The Star, which is happy to welcome guests and large parties.
